Martin was always saying,” I am a discipline of Gandhi.” In 1959, he visited India with his wife; Coretta and they went to the shrine of Gandhi in New Delhi. Martin believed in love and peace to solve world’s problems, just like Gandhi. So then Martin got inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and decided to get civil rights for blacks. Martin also said “it was wonderful to be in Gandhi’s land.” the main reason that Martin went to India so he can see the changes that Mahatma Gandhi made with non violent acts against the British colony for independence of his country all by himself and using peace and love.
